Question Barrels...

Ok so for all of you spyder junkies out there, i just got a mr1 for christmas that i want to spice up a little. one of the main things that i want to do is put a new barrel on the gun, i have considered the freak from SP, and i have also looked at the pro kit from CP. I just want to know what would be a good fit for my gun. and another question, i may want to put an e-trigger on the marker, but would it really be worth it?

thanks
MOOKIE

As a former E-MR1 owner, an e-triggered MR with no eyes was a bit of a blender in my experience. I personally would stick with a mechanical trigger unless you have a fast loader and don't go crazy with the full-auto. Just my opinion.

As for barrels, just about anything will do. It depends on your preference (and your pocketbook). If you're looking for a kit, CP is a decent choice although there are better ones out there. I usually use one-piece barrels, and there are TONS out there. CP barrels or a 32 Degrees Night Stick are decent one-piece barrels at a nice price.

What are you looking to drop on a barrel/kit?

i dont want to go too crazy, prolly nothing more than 75. i dont even want to go that high but i can. i just want better accuracy with my gun. I'm very interested with the SP Freak. I look at it everyday and i keep looking at reviews for it and i see a lot of good reviews but the only bad thing that i have heard about it is it can be very expensive and that the inserts can be dinged up pretty easily...

also, i just bought a SP linear barrel, if i were to get the freak, would the linear barrel fit onto the freak? so the linear being a tip for the freak?

If $75 is your budget, you can look around in the B/S/T areas over at mcarterbrown.com or ebay. You may be able to find a Freak at one of those places. I just bought a Scepter barrel kit (which has several features that are superior to the Freak, particularly the inserts)

If you are worried about inserts getting dinged up, I recommend the J&J Edge kit. The color (in most cases) is all right, but the barrel has no inserts, only backs, and it cleans through any breaks you have very quickly. Look here for a pretty good price. I love my J&J one piece (though I haven't used it since my Model 98 stopped working)

If you want more information on accuracy and sound signature, read this thread

So what about an invert nitestick? Read some very good reviews on that too, idk. I'm just asking for an opinion on a accurate barrel...

That's a carbon fiber barrel. If you're rough on your barrels/guns I'd look for something else. But if you don't beat on your barrels/guns too much I'd say give it a shot.

so now i have another problem...i went to play woodsball today with my buddies and one second i was shooting fine, and the next my gun wouldnt shoot at all. it would shoot one ball and roll out of the barrel and sputter TWICE. I had to cock it and shoot and the exact same thing continued to happen. so what i want to know is, why did this happen and is there anything that i can do to fix it?

I'm assuming you have the Superbolt (from your previous thread)?
Sounds like it's not recocking. Try turning up the LPR (under the barrel). Once you get it to recock consistently, give it another 1/2 turn or so.

I was actually talking about my mr1 but I fixed that problem today. Found a bunch of crud inside of the bolt housing. Still haven't fixed my superbolt btw lol. All I need for that is a new ram and everything will be ok. All I'm wanting to do is focus on my spyder right now tho b I want to actually have a gun to shoot, once I get that all done I will start to focus on my superbolt.
